GKW Dehumidification and washing of gases

GKWThe SILOXA GKW gas wash dryer is a compact gas conditioning module used for dehumidifying biogas, landfill gas and sewage gas. It can also be used for removing other harmful gas contaminants. The gas wash dryers are available in three sizes, with flow rates of 180, 320 and 500 Nm3/h respectively.
The supply package includes a packed column counter-current unit and a cooling unit. All components of the GKW are mounted on a steel base frame, along with their pipes and electrical cables. The system components conveying the cold media are fully fitted with Armaflex insulation. In the basic version for outdoor installation, the insulation is protected by an aluminium sheet-metal jacket. The GKW can optionally also be housed in a 10-foot container. The electrical control of the system is performed reliably by a microprocessor.
During the gas washing and drying process, the gas, which is saturated with water vapour, flows upwards through the packed column in the GKW in the opposite direction to the cold water. In this packing material layer, intensive heat and substance exchange takes place between the gas and the cold water. The gas cools down and its oversaturated water vapour content condenses directly into the downwards-flowing washing water. Solid and liquid gas contaminants, such as dust and particles, are completely washed out during this process and gaseous contaminants (H2S and ammonia) are reduced according to their water solubility.
